Chef/Owner Joe Cerniglia & Pastry Chef/Owner Jessica Marotta have found a way to balance traditional Italian methods with a local "Americana" inflection to create charming & imaginative menus that always seem to wake up the senses. The first thing you will see & taste is Ms. Marotta"s homemade ciabatta bread - always crusty, chewy & perfectly blistered on the outside. Aside from baking the daily bread, Cerniglia & Marotta turn out silky hand made pastas, homemade Italian cheeses (they even give classes on cheesemaking on occasion), cured meats, spectacular meat & fish dishes & of course Ms. Marotta's homemade gelatto's, semifreddos & desserts. If that's not enough, it is worth noting that Cerniglia was previously the chef at Gallagher's Steak House in NYC. His vast knowledge of all things meat have transitioned seamlessly into Campania, where you will always find a thick, perfectly charred aged steak that arguably rivals those of any New York steakhouse.
